Executive Chef David Nganga
Restaurant owner
Chef David Nganga Chef David hails from beautiful Kenya. He goes back frequently to help his friends with new restaurants, and to execute his fine cuisine for his very popular pop ups! Torontonians will know him for his kitchen talents at more than a dozen restaurants. Notably, Chiado on College Street, and King West hot spots Fred's Not Here and Red Tomato. In 2006, he joined forces with Chef Greg Couillard to form Manyata on Avenue Road and later Couillard's Spice Room and Chutney Bar in Yorkville. In 2013, he joined Chef Couillard and Kim Everest at NumberFOUR in Ajijic, Mexico. For many summers he worked at the exclusive Almara Beach Club in Montenegro, cooking meals for the rich and famous. In 2017, Chef David went back to Kenya to consult in the opening of one of the first local high end steak houses called The Local Grill. He also took on the role of Executive Chef at Lord Erroll in Nairobi City, Kenya. Lord Erroll was named one of the Top 50 Destination Restaurants Worldwide in 2020 along with 4 other internationally recognized awards.
